When Janice and Kevin first contacted me about photographing their wedding, they mentioned that one of their shared interests was Disney. They did an amazing job infusing this love for Disney throughout their Cupertino wedding, especially inspiration from the movie Up! The groomsmen had grape soda bottle caps on their boutonnieres, Janice wore earrings with the famous floating house, the flower girl and ring boy carried an assortment of colorful balloons down the aisle, and they even had their own personalized mailbox with colorful handprints, just like Ellie and Carl! The Up theme also perfectly spoke to Janice’s love of color, and complemented her vibrant bouquet and her gorgeous blush Vera Wang dress. In Janice’s own cheerful words: “I’m just the happy ball of pink floating around the room!”
Beyond the details, Janice and Kevin’s value of their family and their community was at the forefront of their wedding. Their two kids were part of their bridal party, took helpful behind the scenes shots on their parent’s phones, and even gave a touching speech at the reception. Janice and Kevin also prepared multiple game and activity stations at the reception to ensure that the many kids in attendance would be happily entertained throughout the night. They even had special prize baskets for the best coloring pages! My personal favorite part of the night was when Janice took the mic at the reception and thanked numerous individual people and families in the room who had helped her get to where they were today - I may have shed a few tears behind the camera myself.
Janice and Kevin, I’m so happy for you two as you take this next step in your relationship. I’m honored to have celebrated with you and your family, and am so excited for your new lives together as one “official” family unit! Congratulations again!
