One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is getting to be a part of special milestones - whether it’s the excitement of a new addition to the family, celebrating a new marriage, or honoring the legacy of an extended family. Sometimes this is with new clients turned friends, other times this is with people I have known for years and years.
I was honored to be there for our good friends Jeff + Christina on the day they got engaged. Jeff texted us a month or so ahead to start planning. He drove down along the coast of Half Moon Bay ahead of time to scope out the area (highly recommend!) and sent us some photos of the spots he was thinking. I loved all the planning he did, but if I’ve learned anything from photographing many proposals over the years is that things don’t always go according to plan. The good thing is what matters in the end is that you show you love them, you ask the question, and they say yes :) On this particular day, there were a lot of unexpected factors - a surprisingly heavy cloud of fog, fishermen in the spot that Jeff was planning on, lack of reliable cell reception throughout the area, various other tourists walking across the space, Christina nearly (and eventually) spotting us throughout the morning, etc.. but it all worked out in the end :)
Eventually the sun came out and the fog lifted, so we were able to grab some gorgeous shots with the lighthouse as well!
Congrats again, you two! So excited for you guys in this new season of life :)
