You might remember Jennifer and Adam from their breathtaking engagement session at Windy Hill. I've been looking forward to their wedding at Quadrus Conference Center in Menlo Park ever since. Jennifer had told me beforehand that she wanted it to be “mellow,” and she and Adam managed to pull off a sweet and chill wedding while still incorporating gorgeous decorations (including florals from SF flower mart arranged by the bride’s mom!), delicious food (I lowkey wanted the kids' meal chicken tenders and fries), and a poppin dance floor with participants of all ages!
The two of them decided to keep all events at the venue - getting ready, the first look, ceremony, and reception - which certainly made my job a lot easier since we could build in tons of time for our portraits! It also helped that Quadrus is full of amazing spots, from the outdoor deck where we had the ceremony and cocktail hour to the floor-length windows in the hallways of the dressing areas.
Jennifer and Adam opted to do a first look, which I always recommend because it gives you a chance to spend some time one-on-one before the craziness of the wedding day kicks off! It also gives more flexibility in the wedding day to get your wedding party and family photos taken care of so you can go enjoy your full cocktail hour with all your guests.
One of my favorite parts of the day was seeing how their families came together to celebrate the beginning of a new, multicultural family unit. Their cocktail hour goodies included a platter of assorted cheeses, four different kinds of dumplings (my personal favorite!), and specially procured Taiwan beer ;)
I always love hearing the toasts from the couple's loved ones. It was obvious to see how these two have loved those around them - from Adam's care for his brothers to Jennifer's contagious joy and compassion.
Also, did I mention that Jennifer is a ballroom dancer??
We made sure to build in some time to sneak out for some husband and wife portraits during golden hour and I'm so glad we did! Just look at these two! ..
Jennifer and Adam, thank you for inviting me to spend time with you on one your big day! I absolutely loved getting to know your family and friends, and I can't wait to see how you guys continue to bless those around you.
