You may remember Emily + Josh from their oh so stylish San Francisco engagement session last year. Since then, they’ve gotten married, adopted the sweetest little pup Channing, and are now expecting a little one.. any day now! They have always been cute aesthetic #goals, so I was stoked to photograph their growing family in their cozy, modern apartment in San Francisco. We started the day off with a delicious homemade brunch (Channing got some extra treats), and then basically just lazed around the apartment in matching-but-not-matching comfy neutrals. Sunnyvale Maternity Session | Kellie + Min
Our dear friends Kellie and Min were recently expecting their first child (past tense, because as of this post, baby Tenaya has graced us with her presence!!!), so we spent a lovely morning in Sunnyvale documenting this precious season. We started the morning with some classic portraits with some cute outfits among the trees in the park, and even some fun shots on the playground since they both have really fun spirits (one is especially good at childlike joy, I’ll let you guess which one :D). However, my favorite part of the session by far was in their famous #minllievan. These two transformed a regular ol’ mini van into a transportable home when they went on a months-long cross-country road trip a few years ago, and it was important to them to be able to document their special space. I love these photos because they are so relaxed and at ease, and at the risk of sounding redundant, you can tell they just feel at home.

Palo Alto Maternity Session | Julia + Ryan
This maternity session in Palo Alto’s cactus garden is an extra special one! My dear friends Julia and Ryan are expecting their first child in October - only a few weeks away!! If you know them personally, it will be no surprise that these two have been constantly pushing themselves to do more with less time in all spheres of their lives. This has been especially true for them during these past few months, where they’ve seen each other through multiple transitions - professional, communal, and personal. I’ve been personally blessed witnessing their commitment to support each other and bring all their concerns before God through it all. We were able to secure a rare weekend evening together in their final stages of pregnancy, and I’m so excited to share these portraits commemorating this precious season of waiting and looking forward to a brand new family member!

Erina + Michael | Oakland Maternity Session
Erina and Michael are two of the most compassionate and caring people I know. You can tell through both their actions and their words that they are truly invested in their community, from close friends and family to their local East Bay community to marginalized communities and peoples across the country and world. They have blessed me and many other friends through their music, words, and discipleship in my college Christian fellowship and beyond.
Erina and Michael adopted their dog, Sarabi, a little over a year ago. It has been a joy to see them commit to taking on everything that can come with adopting - shyness, timidity, even anxiety - and just love this new member of their family.
Earlier this year, I was taking a walk in the park with my husband John when Erina texted a group message to me and some other girls she had discipled during college. When I looked at my phone and saw 15 notifications from that one thread I knew something exciting had happened - and it was a pregnancy announcement!! I literally started skipping through the park and John was like "Who was it? What happened? Is someone pregnant?" Am I that obvious?? Hehehe. Then when Erina reached out to me about a maternity session in Oakland, of COURSE I had to say yes! And we made sure that Sarabi the shepherd came along for some fun as well :) I can now personally testify to Sarabi's friendliness and warmth that is so clearly a sign of Erina and Michael's love poured into her.. they are going to be the best parents ever!
We may or may not have made a makeshift leash out of a grocery bag ;D They worked it though!!
Michael and Erina, thank you for inviting me into this precious season in your life! I am so excited to see how your daughter continues to grow and learn to love through your love for God, each other, and the world.
Sherri + Zack | Cupertino Family Mini Session
I met with this adorable family on a lovely morning in Cupertino. Sherri and Zack are so sweet, and their young son Lubao was full of laughs! Apparently he also loves forks (hence the rake, as it's forklike hahaha!) Their dog QQ also popped in for a bit. He was hilarious, especially when other dogs came around.
Sherri is expecting this year, so we made sure to sneak in a few shots of her bump as well!
Sherri and Zack, thanks again for letting me spend time with your family in this precious season! Looking forward to seeing your family grow :)
