During this COVID season, I’ve been honored to work with multiple families who have little ones on the way (since those babies won’t wait for SIP to be over to make their arrival ;) ) and I loved the excuse to come back to the Stanford Cactus Garden in Palo Alto for another maternity session! Elaine and Gene are expecting their first child in the next few weeks…

Christine, JP, and I actually went to high school together (#gowildcats hahaha) so it was nice to reconnect and catch up at the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden years later. These two are expecting their first baby this month, so amidst all the craziness of the global pandemic, we got together for a socially distanced maternity session. Christine was absolutely glowing in her floor-length blue gown from Rent the Runway!

Hooray! I’m coming out of blogging hibernation to share some photos from this lovely Sunnyvale family session!
Funny story - the Lai family and I originally scheduled their family session for last spring when Crystal was still expecting but then.. baby Kit came earlier than expected :) So more than a year later, I was so excited to finally meet the 4 (!) of them in person…

Carmen and Danny started dating in college (GO BEARS!) and have been together for almost 7 years now! They both live in SF, so it only made sense that we spent some time around some of their chosen hangout spots for their engagement session. We started off at one of their favorite coffee spots …

One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is getting to be a part of special milestones - whether it’s the excitement of a new addition to the family, celebrating a new marriage, or honoring the legacy of an extended family. Sometimes this is with new clients turned friends, other times this is with people I have known for years and years.
I was honored to be there for our good friends Jeff + Christina on the day they got engaged. Jeff texted us a month or so ahead to start planning. He drove down along the coast of Half Moon Bay ahead of time to scope out the area (highly recommend!) and sent us some photos of the spots he was thinking. I loved all the planning he did, but if I’ve learned anything from photographing many proposals over the years is that things don’t always go according to plan. The good thing is what matters in the end is that you show you love them, you ask the question, and they say yes :) On this particular day, there were a lot of unexpected factors - a surprisingly heavy cloud of fog, fishermen in the spot that Jeff was planning on, lack of reliable cell reception throughout the area, various other tourists walking across the space, Christina nearly (and eventually) spotting us throughout the morning, etc.. but it all worked out in the end :)

This past winter, I got to hold my second annual round of mini sessions! I always love the opportunity to serve multiple families during the busy holiday season and to get them some updated photos for their holiday cards - especially when there are little ones involved!
I first met this family when they were guests at April + Michael’s wedding - can you spot their daughter KK in one of the cocktail hour photos? (Hint: boba!) So when Gloria reached out for some new family photos, I was so excited to get them officially in front of my camera! It was a delight to photograph all of them together - little Timothy was just adorable, and KK was such a sweet big sister! I think she may have a photographer’s heart in her, as she was always ready with some creative new ideas for poses and family combinations ;) We also got some photos with Gloria’s parents, and it’s obvious that the kids just adore them!
