Sunol Wilderness was the perfect spot for Janice and Kevin’s engagement session. Janice lives in Fremont and Kevin comes in from SF most weekends to hang out with her, so it was fun to explore an area with them that wasn’t too far from home! I’ve been to Sunol Wilderness for an engagement session before, but even in the same place, every session is unique because every love story is different! These two were also super down to explore new sections of the preserve with me and trusted in my vision, which warms my photographer heart :)

Long distance. That’s been the name of the game for Michelle and Duy for quite some time now. The two of them met in San Jose, but both of them are now in school in different states, pursuing their medical and PT career dreams. But they always make time for each other, including flying between Colorado to California or driving up and down between LA and the Bay.
I was lucky enough to spend an afternoon with them on a rare weekend together for their engagement session in Cupertino, and it was seriously so heartwarming to see in person how much they loved each other. Duy clearly adores Michelle, and boy can he make her laugh! Thank you guys for hanging out with me for your surprise wedding workout session - I make my couples do a lot of lifting and cardio during their time with me ;)

April and Michael met through their church small group. They bonded over mutual interests, like cooking together and hiking in the many gorgeous parks and trails that the Bay Area offers. So it was only natural that when it came time to propose, Michael popped the question at one of their regular hiking spots, Alum Rock.
For their engagement session, we spent an afternoon at Vasona Park in Los Gatos, another favorite outdoor spot of theirs. They were a little more dressed up than they’d normally be for a hike ;) but that didn’t stop them from skipping and tumbling around the park together. (I tell my couples that a session with me can end up feeling like a workout - in the best way, I promise!) They ended the evening with a sweet slow dance in the open field as the sun went down.

Carbs, snuggling, and lots and lots of laughter - these are some of the defining words of Grace and Jeff’s relationship, and I loved that they incorporated all of these into their Oakland engagement session! We started the afternoon cozied up in their soon-to-be new home, where they snuggled together and snacked on some fries from Mickey D’s. Then we took a walk around their neighborhood - it’s seriously so beautiful with all the light streaming through the trees! We ended the day by catching the sunset atop a nearby parking structure.

Back where it all began. We kicked off Romeo and Megan’s sweet Pinole engagement session at the coffee shop where they had their first date: East Bay Coffee Company! Little did they know that this Coffee Meets Bagel date would be their last first date ever!
Afterwards, we went to nearby Bayfront Park to take a stroll along the water. In between sharing with me about how he proposed (under the lights of a lantern festival!), what they love to do (work out, watch movies, remodel their home hahaha), these two were so giggly and into each other that I probably annoyed them with how many times I told them they were KILLIN’ it! It also didn’t hurt that their outfits fit their personalities so well - a mix of classy and fun! Megan also has the cutest laugh, and Romeo knows just how to bring it out in her! Good sign for the future, I think ;)

Emily is one of my dearest (and most stylish) friends, so when she asked me to shoot her and Josh's engagement session in San Francisco I was immediately hyped! In typical Emily fashion, she put together a gorgeous Powerpoint vision board of her ideal engagement session - a combination of the Sunset neighborhood where she and Josh currently live and the beautiful Legion of Honor museum. I loved that their session reflected places and images that were special to their relationship - their SF home turf for the past few years as well as the elegant, inspirational aesthetic of the Legion of Honor.
