I promised myself that 2018 would be the year I started blogging a year-end reflection.. is February 2019 too late for that? ;) I’ve been honored this past year to meet and photograph so many beautiful families all across the Bay Area, each with their own unique stories.. extended families who live spread across the globe, or those whose grandparents help babysit the grandkids every week.. new families with their very first child, those with three or more, and those with their first on the way… some with pets and some with kids just as rambunctious ;) Here are a few of my faves!
Cupertino Family Photographer | The Karp + Chandler Family
Grandparents are known for doting on their grandchildren, and my Cupertino family session with the Karps and Chandlers was no exception! It warmed my heart to see how much Ashley and Jonathan’s parents adored little Kira, and how they would do whatever it took to make her smile - more on that at the end of the post ;)

Carbs, snuggling, and lots and lots of laughter - these are some of the defining words of Grace and Jeff’s relationship, and I loved that they incorporated all of these into their Oakland engagement session! We started the afternoon cozied up in their soon-to-be new home, where they snuggled together and snacked on some fries from Mickey D’s. Then we took a walk around their neighborhood - it’s seriously so beautiful with all the light streaming through the trees! We ended the day by catching the sunset atop a nearby parking structure.

This holiday season, I held mini sessions for the first time ever and they were amazing!! I loved being able to serve multiple families in one day, including Sophia and Damon. I had taken their maternity photos a couple years ago when they were expecting their first child, and this year they came back with TWO kids, and it was so much fun!! We met at McClellan Ranch Preserve in Cupertino on a Saturday morning and had a blast playing amongst the leaves.

This holiday season, I held a day of mini sessions for the first time ever and they were amazing!! I loved being able to serve multiple families in one morning, including the Parks. Their outfits were on point (coordinated but not too matchy-matchy), and the kids had so much fun with each other! I especially loved seeing how caring the older sisters were to their younger brother.

Back where it all began. We kicked off Romeo and Megan’s sweet Pinole engagement session at the coffee shop where they had their first date: East Bay Coffee Company! Little did they know that this Coffee Meets Bagel date would be their last first date ever!
Afterwards, we went to nearby Bayfront Park to take a stroll along the water. In between sharing with me about how he proposed (under the lights of a lantern festival!), what they love to do (work out, watch movies, remodel their home hahaha), these two were so giggly and into each other that I probably annoyed them with how many times I told them they were KILLIN’ it! It also didn’t hurt that their outfits fit their personalities so well - a mix of classy and fun! Megan also has the cutest laugh, and Romeo knows just how to bring it out in her! Good sign for the future, I think ;)
